2014 – It’s a wrap

Oh hi!

Thanks so much for dropping in.

Hey, I’ve been meaning to tell you this for a while, but I haven’t gotten around to it.

I’ve decided to take a tiny break from blogging.

Don’t worry. It’s not going to be a long break. I just need to spend a couple of weeks, or maybe more, maxing and relaxing with Dave and the girls. You understand, right?

This last push to make it to the end of the year has me a little worn out and I have one of those dreaded summer colds. Don’t you hate those?

Life has been off the hook busy lately. Off the hook awesome, but busy all the same. I’m tired. The kids are tired. Dave’s tired. It’s been as hot as hades and when it’s as hot as hades everyone tends to get a little cranky. We just need to unwind, spend some quality time together, cherish the simple things and prepare ourselves for a new year full of possibility.

Before I head off for the year, I want to thank you. Your support, interaction and encouragement never ceases to amaze me. Every single time I receive a message in my inbox telling me that you can relate to one of my stories my heart swells. You are what spurs me on to keep writing and sharing.

Back in 2013 when I launched this blog, one of my goals was to share stories with you that you can relate to and that make you feel like you’re not alone.

I think we’ve definitely achieved that. We have created a pretty amazing and supportive community here.

While we absolutely love being parents and recognise the everyday beauty in our lives, there is no doubt that sometimes we feel a little lost and tired and crave some time out for us to remember and rediscover who we are or to celebrate the person we are becoming.

I don’t want this blog to be all about me all the time. I want you to feel that you have some ownership over what happens in this space. If you ever want me to write about a particular topic please drop me a line.

There have been three clear standout stories this year that you loved.

Dressing my age – a lesson learned the hard way

Work in progress

Go the f@ck to sleep.

Check them out if you haven’t already.

Earlier this year, I did my first ever giveaway. Talk about mega excitement. As the year has gone on I’ve been doing more of these. I love the opportunity to give you something back and this is a great way of doing it.

I’ve also been writing a few paid posts, which means a brand pays me to talk about a particular product. I am always extremely chuffed when a brand approaches me as it’s a great way for me to earn a little cash on the side for my family and it can be a welcome challenge. Please know that when I do a paid post I only ever promote to you products that I believe in 100%. I ain’t going to sell you any crap. Ain’t nobody got time for that.

In the past few months on Facebook, I’ve joined in with Styling You’s Everyday Style challenge. You have completely embraced my awkward model poses, my silly banter and my four-year-old’s artistic photography.

everydaystyle
The most popular Facebook post however was about a doll my Grandma won at bingo for my daughter. If that doesn’t make you lose sleep, I don’t know what will.

chucky

Anyway, gorgeous. Thanks again for the good times this year. I’ve had an absolute blast and cannot wait to write and share more with you next year.

I will drop into Facebook and Instagram occasionally over the break, but until then I wish you a super smashing great Christmas and a new year full of love, laughter, happiness and promise.

Love

Renee xx

cheers

Linking up for the last time this year with the gorgeous Jess for IBOT.

Happy holidays and happy bloggging break! Sometimes the best thing we can do for our words, our creativity and our spirit is to switch off, close the laptop and go outside and enjoy everything that gives us the inspiration to write those words xx
