Jamberry nail wraps review + giveaway

When it comes to hair, nails, makeup and fashion – I’m generally a low maintenance kind of girl.

I want to look my best, of course, but as a busy mum I don’t have the time or energy to be mucking around curling my hair or putting on 16 layers of makeup. And to be honest, even if I didn’t have kids I wouldn’t put a huge amount of effort into styling myself.

I prefer a casual chic look – think classic Audrey Hepburn, but with some added extras like cute earrings, a statement necklace, bangles – anything that will give my outfit a lift, including my recent discovery, Jamberry nail wraps.

IMG_0001

Oh my God, I am not even kidding you – and my sister and sister-in-law can attest to this – I am in love with Jamberry nail wraps.

Have you heard of them yet? They are non-toxic, vinyl nail wraps, which you apply with heat. They are huge in the US and are set to launch in Australia and New Zealand on 1 October.

I recently connected online with one of the US consultants, Jessica Reed, and she kindly offered to send me some samples. Cue excitement!

Now, I’m definitely not the kind of girl you would see in a salon getting her nails done. I just don’t have the time or money, plus I give my nails a beating looking after the kids, cleaning and swimming. I’m also a total clutz and am always knocking, breaking and tearing my nails.

I do appreciate a beautiful manicure though and I can now get that with minimal effort. There is no dry time and they don’t smudge or chip. I’ve had mine on for 10 days now and they are going strong.

When my Jamberry samples and catalogue arrived from Jessica, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are 300 + different nail wraps to choose from and I want them all.

IMG

I was impressed with how easy they are to apply. All you need is the wraps, a nail file, scissors, a hair dryer and nail polish.

You can use nail wraps on all of your fingers and toes, but to start off with, I’ve been using just one wrap on my ring fingers as an accent nail and painting the rest of my nails with nail polish. I’ve been changing up my mani every few days painting my nails a different colour, while having the same accent.

When Jamberry launches in Australia and New Zealand on 1 October, they will retail at $22 a set. Sets allow for up to two full manicures and pedicures.

Jessica is opening up an online party for me from 1 October, so if you’re keen to order some wraps, order through the Mummy, Wife, Me Jamberry nail wraps link here. (I will receive hostess rewards through this).

If you want to earn your own rewards, you can host an in-person manicure party, a catalog party, or a Facebook or Twitter party through Jessica from 1 October. She is happy to answer any questions you might have via email at jessicareednails@gmail.com, or via Twitter or Facebook to set a party up for you now. If you’re interested in joining her team, find out more with these webinars.

Giveaway time

Today, Jessica is kindly letting me giveaway three prizes, so you can try Jamberry for yourself.

  • one full sheet of nail wraps (enough for 2 manicures and 2 pedicures)
  • a pedi pack
  • a sample sheet with mini-application kit.

All you need to do is head over to Jessica’s Jamberry shop and tell me in the comments below, which design you like best and why you need Jamberry nail wraps.

These are such a cool idea, although I have awful nails and are better left bare for the most part.

Hi Jodi! What specifically is awful about your nails? Mine used to peel frequently, and I started using Jamberry’s strengthening base coat and cuticle oil. I didn’t realize how important healthy cuticles are for nail health until I tried the product and read up on it! But Jamberry nail wraps are also great just on toes, if you at least like a nice pedi 🙂

Those bows! My daughter would love those for her year 10 formal. She’s wearing a Taylor Swift inspired black and white ensemble and those gorgeously fabulous bows would just match her (and her partner’s) gear perfectly! (Besides, she used to be a cheerleader and cheerleaders are all about their bows). Yes please!

OMG! I am so excited! So many peeps I know on IG have been raving about Jamberry forever and I’ve always had serious FOMO because we can’t get them down under… until now that is! I am so excited! There are so many designs it’s super hard to choose, but I’d have to go for the french mani bows, because… cute! I love french manicures but can never do them myself and that bow, just brings everything together! Even if I don’t win, my nails are going to be wrapped!

Hi Bec! That’s what is awesome about Jamberry, is that they work well on toes too. In fact, I find them easier to apply on my toes! And if you’re nails need any help, I highly recommend the Jamberry strengthening base coat. It’s a nail polish, but it really has helped my nails strengthen and lengthen.

Hi Jess! Did you sign up thru Jamberry for the sample? Jamberry says 2 weeks, but I typically say 7-10 days. Certain wraps stay on longer than others I’ve found. But I usually get 10 days out of them, if I can stand it before wanting to switch it to something different!

Yay Hugzilla! What’s great too is that they don’t dry out, so if you open a pack and only use on one nail, you can use them again in another month, or two, or a year. So you really get a lot of value out of them, even if you don’t like your nails/toenails done much.

I have a few American friends who rave about Jamberry nails all the time. I paint my toenails but dont usually do my fingernails because they chip so easily so I’d been keen to try these out if they stay on really well.I really like the double crossed pattern because it would match any outfit because it has all the colours I always wear plus I could do what you’ve done and just do one feature nail and leave the others painted a single colour.

Hi Toni! That’s great to hear. As long as you have a good application and it’s sealed properly, they definitely stay on very well. Double crossed would look great with so many other colors – you could even get a solid wrap like Boysenberry and keep it as an accent as you mentioned. They don’t ever dry out, so you can just use one nail wrap as you want which will make them last a very long time!
