I was lucky enough to meet one of my Mummy, Wife, Me readers in real life a couple of weeks ago.
You could have knocked me over with a feather, I was so shocked to have one of my fans (feels weird to say that) introduce herself and tell me she likes what I do. (Thank you, you know who you are 🙂 )
Words cannot describe how much that short conversation meant to me and how that tiny interaction and words of support spurred me on.
This blogging caper means so much more to me than writing. The writing part is awesome don’t get me wrong, but the thing that continues to blow me away is the connection and interaction I get from the Mummy, Wife, Me community we have created here.
I don’t think I will ever get my head around nor can I be grateful enough for the interest and support I get from you, my readers. I want to continue to build this community where we can interact and connect with each other and where you can you laugh, cry, and feel like you’re not alone.
If that isn’t amazing enough, there is the generosity and support surging through the blogging community. This community is filled with a massive amount of love. I’m grateful I decided to take the leap and become part of it. Who knew I would find so many people who ‘get’ me and understand my need to write, to share, and to connect?!
Tara from Gluten Free Hart is one of these like-minded people. I was chuffed to bits when she nominated me recently for a Liebster Award.
This is the second time in two years that I have accepted this award and it is no less an honour this time than it was the first.
In accepting this award, Tara asked me to answer the following questions about myself.
Coffee with Oprah Winfrey or Ellen DeGeneres?
Tough one. My head says Oprah. I can see us having a delightful cuppa together. I would pour my heart and soul out to her and she would give me some very wise words of advice … or Dr Phil’s phone number, but my heart says Ellen because I can never have enough laughter or dancing in my life.
Most embarrassing moment?
Let me take you back to 1988 where the cool thing to do was to wear a tracksuit jumper over your school uniform and tracksuit pants underneath it. One day, for some reason or another, I was just wearing my tracksuit with no uniform underneath. I forgot that I didn’t have my uniform on and while I was talking to a bunch of my friends and the SCHOOL PRIEST, I took my jumper off to reveal NOTHING underneath. I will never forget that moment.
White or Red or are you a spirits kinda gal?
My weekend is not complete without a bottle of New Zealand Sav Blanc.
Share something that always makes you laugh?
At the moment it is Jimmy Fallon and tight pants :/
Chocolate or lollies and name your fave?
Back in my pre I Quit Sugar days it was a king size Cherry Ripe.
Opportunity to sit next to anyone in the world (famous or otherwise) on a plane and why him/her/it?
Liam Neeson because he would totally have my back if things got crazy on the plane.
Best movie ever!
My all time favourite movie is Breakfast at Tiffany’s. I want to BE Audrey Hepburn.
Forced to do Karaoke – song choice?
I was born to sing Tomorrow by Silverchair.
Now, I am meant to nominate 10 bloggers to pass this onto, but as I’ve done this once before for this award, I am going to take a leaf out of You learn something new every day’s book, and list five blogs that I check in on every couple of days to see what I’ve missed. They are all awesome each in their individual way. Make sure you check them out.
Thanks again for the nomination, Tara x
