Cute characters, rocking good tunes, a powerful message, and not a scary villain in sight – SING was our top pick of family-friendly movies over the summer holidays.
And guess what? SING Special Edition Blu-ray and DVD will be in stores 29 March in plenty of time for the upcoming Easter holidays. #winning
We love a good outing to the movies, but it’s not always easy to find something that appeals to the whole family. Miss Four scares quite easily and has been known to cry, scream and attempt to escape the cinema during movies that were a little too scary for her. Just a little bit awkward when you’re in a cinema full of people.
I thought we’d be onto a winner with SING and I wasn’t wrong. From the clever creators of Despicable Me, SING is a musical comedy about finding the shining star that lives inside all of us. SING is a wonderful, funny and heartwarming film with great music and a fantastic cast.
Featuring three mini movies and even more music, Miss Six and Miss Four can’t wait to get their jazz hands on the special edition DVD.
Ever since we saw SING, Miss Four begs me to replay clips of desperate housewife Rosita and the hilarious Gunter Shake it off. Meanwhile, Miss Six loves to grab her guitar to channel punk-rocking porcupine Ash.
Dave’s Sunday morning Spotify sessions have been completely overrun with the SING soundtrack. To be honest, Dave and I don’t mind at all. Golden Globe nominee for Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song, SING features more than 65 hit songs, including Faith, a brand-new Stevie Wonder song (featuring Ariana Grande). His first song for a major film release in 25 years.
SING is such a fun family flick full of good tunes, plenty of laughs and relatable characters – I’m looking at you, Rosita. Best of all, I love that behind all the bright lights and laughs, the movie drives home the important message of believing in yourself.
SING stars Academy Award® winner Matthew McConaughey as Buster Moon, an eternally optimistic koala who puts on the world’s greatest singing competition to save his crumbling theatre; Academy Award® winner Reese Witherspoon as Rosita, an overworked and unappreciated mother of 25 piglets desperate to unleash her inner diva; Scarlett Johansson as Ash, a punk rock porcupine with a beautiful voice behind her prickly exterior; Taron Egerton as Johnny, a young gangster gorilla looking to break free of his family’s felonies; as well as Seth MacFarlane, John C. Reilly, and Grammy Award-nominated Tori Kelly.
